Dear Friends,
Thank you for your interest in the Kimbra Foundation. As you explore the information on our website, I’m sure in no time at all you will fall in love with our KIMBRA KIDS just as I have.
During my reign as Miss Uganda 2004-2005, I had the opportunity to travel to numerous villages throughout Africa … especially to war torn areas like Gulu in Northern Uganda, and the slums in Kampala. Here I visited with the people and witnessed first-hand the needs of each community. What I found in most cases was a desperate need for even the most basic human necessities such as medical care, food, shelter and clothing. And the precious children are the most undeserved of all.
Since then, I dreamed of one day starting a foundation that would allow people of all walks of life to share their good fortune and help alleviate the suffering in Uganda. And so the Kimbra Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was born.
Our Mission at the Kimbra Foundation is to nurture and support the underprivileged children of Uganda by providing opportunities for them to flourish. By providing basic necessities and education, the foundation aims to cultivate communities with morally upright, socially balanced and academically capable children. To do this, the Kimbra Foundation partners with The Vincent Alex Boarding Primary School in Mukono Town. This school is dedicated to serving orphans and very poor children in the region and is near and dear to my heart because it is the school where I received my own education. I have such good memories of my time at Vincent Alex and am so excited to be able to help provide children with the same opportunity I had.
Please join me in supporting this worthwhile cause and helping us make a difference in a child’s life. No sponsorship amount is too small – every bit makes a difference. If there are other ways you believe you could provide support, please reach out to me.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support,
Barbara Kimbugwe
